Katie's flower portraits and headshots.

Katie is a dancer who wanted some portraits taken. For her photo session we shot some stunning photos in the beautiful Rhododendrons that are blooming as well as some more "studio" style headshots.

On Location

We started on location with the beautiful red Rhododendrons. The photos are all shot using natural light and a reflector. I often try to avoid patterned clothing however Katie's beautiful blue floral dress worked really well!

We used some other shrubs that were flowering as well to create a different look and colour theme. I added the yellow coat to Katie's look which complimented the orange flowers. This created much more of a fashion editorial style shot. Katie looks like a model for a clothing look book in these!

Studio

After being out on location we headed to my home studio for some headshots.

These are still shot with natural light which comes in through the double patio doors. Katie's white top catches the light to create a delicate feel. You could go for darker clothing to create a more dramatic shot.
