Sunflowers & Purple Lilies Milk Bath

DSC_4422.jpg

For Karin’s maternity milk bath photo session she chose to wear these fabulous tulle dresses that I have for these photoshoots. We went for one deep colourful look with the blue dress, purple lilies (which I’ve never seen before!) and pink roses. For the second set we went for a softer look with the peach tulle dress, sunflowers and little yellow flowers in her hair.

For Karin’s maternity milk bath photoshoot we used her home and the comfort of her own bathroom. To have the milk bath photo session in your own home you need a white bath, white (or light stone coloured tiles) and a neutrally painted bathroom. Karin’s bathroom was perfect for this.

I think Karin almost looks like she’s in a Preraphelaite painting in the photos above!
Also look how blue Karin’s eyes are! I haven’t edited them at all!

Second Look

Time for the peach dress with flowers in her hair!

Karin was happy to let me put these lovely little yellow star shaped flowers in her hair which is something I haven’t tried before but I think it looks so beautiful! I will have to suggest this more often now.

Since these photos Karin has had her little boy who they named Atlas. What a unique and beautiful name!

This was Karin’s first baby and as we know pregnancy treats each person completely differently. I have worked with Karin before as she is the fantastic creator of the fabulous headpiece and accessories brand Rouge Pony. Having met Karin before I could see she was totally herself and not ill or stressed. She was lucky that she wasn’t ill at all with her pregnancy and told me she could go cycling for quite a while and all sorts of things. As she put it “I’m pregnant, not ill!”.

I know this isn’t the case for everyone though. My previous client before Karin hadn’t had such luck as she had been very ill during her pregnancy and was constantly nauseous. She had her session at my home, for the outside location photos we stayed in my garden so she didn’t have to walk anywhere. During the bath photo session we took it slowly as she felt very sick all the time but she was used to dealing with it so despite her feeling sick, she still managed to look stunning! If you are thinking of having a session and have any concerns just let me know and we can talk about it.
