Oxford Photo Tour with Dominique
Dominique is from Quebec, Canada, and was taking some time out to travel the world. The UK was on her list and she contacted me to have a photo tour around both London and Oxford to capture her time in the cities. We tailored the photo walk according to what Dominique wanted to see and I was able to make some suggestions for other places well worth a visit as well.
Harry Potter Sight Seeing Photo Tour in Oxford
We started in the obvious places… the historical parts of Oxford where Harry Potter was filmed! First stop, The Bridge of Sighs between New College and Hertford College, Bodleian Library and Radcliffe Camera.
All these sights are so close together so it’s really easy to visit a lot of the Harry Potter filming sights in one photoshoot.
Christ Church College
Another place that’s beautiful to see and… you guessed it… also on the Harry Potter Tour list is Christ Church College. Both New College and Christ Church Cloisters and hallways were used as the hallways of Hogwarts itself. They say that the producers got inspiration for The Great Hall from Christ Church’s dining hall.
Little Tip!
In the summer you can actually stay over in the rooms there. It’s basic accommodation but you get to have your breakfast in the dining hall that inspired Hogwarts Great Hall!
Oxford Botanic Garden
We finished at Oxford Botanic Gardens. It’s one of my favourite places as it’s so beautiful. It’s right next to the river, there’s glasshouses to explore and lawns to picnic on.
We had such a great time together after spending our day together in London and then shooting again in Oxford. After the photoshoot I took Dominique to a rooftop bar/ restaurant with beautiful views over Oxford. Maybe one day she can give me a tour around Quebec!
