Scotland
I was recently invited up to Aviemore, Scotland with Wild Arena who specialise in wildlife photography.
We will be joining them for more future trips to Scotland to run workshops combining portraiture and wildlife. I will actually be modelling for them with some birds of prey (check my “about me” section where I explain I model as well as take photos!).
Take a look at us in action here…
I photographed Raj in the beautiful location at the edge of the woodlands where the trees met with open ground and you could see the hills behind.
We had all the weather often all at once! At one point this beautiful sunshine, that you can see in some of the photos above, peeked through the clouds. It caught all the water droplets on the trees giving everything an extra golden glow.
There’s so much colour in the Scottish landscape even over winter time with all the heather, moss, lichen and the woodlands full of Scots Pine. It had a very rugged earthy feel to the place which I think adds to the sense of wilderness.
Outtakes!
Despite the sunshine it was cold and windy as you can see from these outtakes! Raj ket his warm layers on whilst I took a few test shots to get my settings correct. Also the wind would occasionally pick up and blew Raj’s scarf over his face! But this made for some good laughing shots!
