Graduation
2020 is the year that students had to celebrate graduation at home as they weren’t able to have the formal ceremony or formal graduation photos due to Covid restrictions. However this didn’t matter as they hired the gowns, I created a fake scroll and they opened some bubbly and celebrated from home.
Izzy and Millie graduated from Oxford Brookes University and have known each other since primary school so what an amazing journey to go through together. Millie graduated with a law degree and Izzie graduated with a Anthropology Degree. Congratulations both!
Did you know that even at the graduation ceremony the certificate scroll you are given and hold for photos is a fake! You actually get your official one sent to you in the post. So we made our own fake scroll for these photos as well!
We couldn’t unfortunately do close groups shots with friends hugging etc due to the Covid restrictions. We had to be safety conscious so we did some walking shots through the gardens and of course the champagne explosion photo as you saw above which is great fun and means you can stay apart but get a great action shot photo as well!
Of course people living together could be close so couple shots were luckily still allowed!
Izzy requested a couple of photos with a plain wall as her grandparents wanted some simple ones to match the other grandkids graduation photos so we did this and again using natural light as I often do in my work.
I think Jess the dog was feeling left out and wanted some photos with her balls. It turns out she was such a relaxed dog so she was so photogenic!
I hope all graduates made the most of it despite these strange times and celebrated in their own way! Congratulations on graduating!
